Calmbirth® is the only childbirth education program that requires all its educators to be practising midwives or trained birth professionals
Hello! Thank you so much for expressing interest in this incredible childbirth preparation program.
My name is Bridgitt, I am a registered nurse and registered midwife currently working at the Mildura Base Hospital, Maternity unit. A normal week for me involves caring for women, their babies, and their families in the birthing suites, postnatal ward and special care nursery. It wasn’t long after starting my career as a midwife that I fell in love with working in the birthing suites, and I have been lucky enough to witness and be a part of some of the most beautiful and breath-taking births.
I am passionate about the mind-body connection, women’s health and childbirth, so when I stumbled across the opportunity to take part in the highly accredited Calmbirth course, it only made sense to me. I believe that every woman has the right to access the appropriate tools and information in the lead up to birthing her baby.
Unfortunately, birth culture at the moment has us seeing more and more women fearful about labour and birth, which can not only be detrimental to their birth experience, but can also take away from them the absolute joy that childbirth can be. When a woman births with confidence, trusting her body and her baby, she is able to achieve the birth of her dreams – however it may unfold.
What I love most about this program is that it not only empowers the woman, but it also empowers the partner to play an active role in the birth, by giving them the skills and techniques they need to assist their partner throughout the birthing process.
I have seen firsthand the magic that happens when a couple properly prepare for the birth of their baby and I am so honoured to be able to share this wonderful program with the families of Mildura.
I very much look forward to meeting you!
