Biography

Nepean Hospital is pleased to offer the Calmbirth antenatal education program for expectant parents in the Nepean Blue Mountains region. The Calmbirth classes are an exciting addition to the services available for local families and will further enhance the quality, compassionate care provided by the Women’s and Children’s Health Service at Nepean Hospital.

Nepean Hospital, located in Penrith NSW, is a large tertiary within the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital for the University of Sydney and births around 4,000 babies each year. Maternity services offered at Nepean Hospital include antenatal, birthing, postnatal care and Neonatal Intensive Care. Nepean Hospital provides care for all women, including those with complex medical needs, through various models of care including midwifery care, caseload midwifery and obstetric led care.

CALMBIRTH EDUCATOR – DENISE ROUND

Denise is a Registered Midwife, Child & Family Health Nurse, Parenting Educator and a Calmbirth Educator.

She has completed Post Graduate studies in Child & Family Health, Child & Adolescent Mental Health and Lactation. Denise is a Circle of Security Facilitator, Core of Life Facilitator, as well as being the Founder and Director of the Parenting for Life Program.

Denise feels blessed in her career to be able to combine her absolute passion about pregnancy, birth and beyond with working across all fields of Midwifery, Child & Family Health and supporting new families as they transition and grow into their role as parents.

Her goal as a Calmbirth Educator is to empower you with knowledge, confidence and skills so that you can work together as a team through your birth journey to welcome your precious baby into the world.

Through equipping you with these tools, you will have the ability to know how to make informed decisions and choices along side of your caregivers to create the best birth possible for you and your baby.
