Hi, I’m Amy! I’m here to support you through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood with confidence and calm.

I am a Registered Nurse, Endorsed Midwife, IBCLC Lactation Consultant, Maternal & Child Health Nurse, and Calmbirth Educator based in Melbourne. With over a decade of experience supporting families in hospital and the community, I offer evidence-based education and compassionate care tailored to inform and empower your journey.

I began my career at The Royal Women’s Hospital, where I attended hundreds of births and worked closely with new parents during the precious early postpartum period. I’ve also had the privilege of advocating for women and families at a national level, contributing to Australia’s 2015 Royal Commission into Family Violence and sharing insights as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the Women’s Emergency Department.

Now, I work as both a Maternal & Child Health Nurse and privately practicing IBCLC Lactation Consultant. Here, I walk alongside families from the very first days of their baby’s life through to early childhood. In 2024, I resumed university studies to become an Endorsed Midwife. This qualification enables me to provide Medicare-rebated postnatal and lactation services, offer bulk-billed telehealth follow-ups, and ensure continuity of care for the Mother, baby and wider family for the first six weeks and six days following birth.

I believe that evidence based education, continuity and tailored professional support and a family centred care is the foundation for new parents and families to thrive. I feel privileged to be part of this transformative journey.

Why I Teach Calmbirth

I first discovered Calmbirth when caring for women as a Midwife. Time and time again, I saw how Calmbirth couples approached labour and birth with confidence, clarity, and calm. Instead of fear and panic, these parents met birth with trust, knowledge, and a deep connection to each other. Witnessing these powerful births was profoundly impactful and inspiring – the confidence and connection the couples carried into their birth experience left a lasting impression on me as a midwife and deepened my belief in the power of knowledge and preparation.

When it was my turn to prepare for birth of my first baby, I chose Calmbirth. Even as a Midwife, the course deepened my trust in my body’s ability to birth and gave my partner the tools to support me in the most meaningful way. Together, we experienced two positive and transformative births, and today, we are proud parents of two beautiful daughters.

For the past three years, I have taught Calmbirth to over 400 couples, equipping them with the confidence, knowledge, and mindset to approach birth with calm and clarity. It’s a privilege to support families as they step into parenthood feeling empowered and connected.
