Biography

I have been in the Eurobodalla region for around 25 years now and work as part of the team of midwives at Moruya District hospital. I also work as a herbalist in private practice, taking an integrative medicine approach in supporting women's health.I decided to train as a Calmbirth educator because I noticed a distinct difference in the way women birthed their babies when they knew about the process of birth, had techniques to help them stay relaxed during labour and trusted in their bodies to do what women have been doing for thousands of generations. These women were reporting that they were really pleased with their birth experiences and the experiences were clearly transformative. I also noticed that their birthing companions were a wonderful support to these women and made a very real and loving contribution to their partner's experiences. The birth of their babies born into such a loving and peaceful atmosphere made for a very special experience for the new families. Since training as a Calmbirth educator, I have been fortunate enough to see most of the 'Calmbirth couples' at some time during their maternity stay and I continue to be humbled and amazed by the positive birth stories they have shared with me. I conduct Calmbirth classes from Batemans Bay to Bega, on the beautiful NSW South Coast. I am flexible with class times and dates, in a venue that suits you.
