Getting to know Calmbirth Educator Mel Moldoveanu

Educators

My name is Mel and I am a mother of two grown boys, or should I say men, and know the excitement, intensity and exhilaration birth presents. I have been working as a Registered Midwife for more than 5 years, and currently work for Queensland Health at the local Toowoomba Hospital and I’m passionate about creating a positive birth culture. It is a privilege and honour to witness the strength and determination of women, supported by their loved ones, as they birth their baby, and welcome them into the world.

Becoming a Calmbirth® Educator has given me the ability to help you replace fear with confidence and anxiety with knowledge. I love empowering women and couples to achieve what they never thought possible. I am excited to provide you with a holistic and thorough childbirth education that encompasses your birthing needs on an emotional and physical level. I look forward to empowering you on your journey to parenthood.

“Seeing a baby being born is miraculous, awe inspiring, and joyous. Witnessing the strength a woman has to bring her baby into the world is simply amazing”.

My life in five words… Family | Adventurous | Fun | Crazy | Challenging |

The best thing about where I live is… Springtime when all the flowers bloom and their fragrance fills the air. Toowoomba is known for its Gardens and has an annual Carnival of Flowers to celebrate. I also like the close proximity to Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast.

What I do to relax when I’m not working… When I’m not working I love being creative making cards and catching up with friends over coffee.

I can’t live without… My phone – it’s my lifeline to the world!

The person or traits I most admire is… Selflessness | Positiveness |

What I love most about being a Calmbirth Educator… is empowering couples as they prepare for the birth of their baby and giving them the ability to connect deeper as a couple, trusting in their innate abilities to welcome their baby into the world.

If I had to describe my own birth experiences in 3 words… Naive | Interventions | Exhilarating.

The 3 essential things you need to take with you into labour are… Belief in yourself to birth your baby | A positive support person | Breathing Techniques.

My most memorable moment at as Calmbirth® educator… The excitement the couples had about their upcoming birth’s after learning the Calmbirth techniques. I remember driving home with a HUGE smile on my face and my heart full.

A favourite quote… “You cannot control everything that happens to you; you can only control the way you respond to what happens. In your response is your power” — Anonymous
