Sarah Koffmann is a GP Obstetrician working in the beautiful regional town of Bathurst NSW as well as a Calmbirth Educator.
My passion is working with women to optimise their health especially in areas of contraception, pregnancy care, postnatal health, breastfeeding, peri/menopause and mental health.
My Name is…Sarah Koffmann
I work…in the beautiful town of Bathurst as a GP and Calmbirth educator.
My life in five words…Family, Friends, Gardening, Curiosity and Courage.I live with my husband and four children, 2 dogs and 3 cats! My hobbies are gardening, reading, creating and learning new things. I have a very long and slow project on the go to restore a 1957 Ford Zephyr and convert it to an electric vehicle. Watch this space!
The best thing about where I live… is the lifelong connections I have to the people in our community.
What I do to relax when I’m not working…Reading, Gardening, Creating.
I can’t live without…coffee (and my family!)
The person or traits I most admire…is keeping an open mind to new ideas and trying to see the world through someone else’s perspective.
What I love most about being a Calmbirth Educator…helping women let go of their fears and trust their body.
If I had to describe my own birth experiences in 3 words...Empowering, Safe, Calm
The 3 essential things you need to take with you into labour are… Trust in yourself, Trust in your baby, Trust in your support people.
My most memorable moment as a Calmbirth® educator… is seeing the partners go from awkward and uncertain at the beginning of the course to relaxed and empowered to support their partner give birth.
A favourite quote... “Just do the next right thing” from Frozen 2
If you had to describe how seeing a baby being born makes you feel... in awe at how incredible a woman’s mind and body is.
You can follow me at… CalmbirthwithSarah on facebook and Instagram.
My Calmbirth courses are run over a four week cycle each month.
