The ideal time to attend a Calmbirth® class is between 24 and 34 weeks gestation.

This, however, is not a strict guideline; if you are feeling particularly anxious, we suggest coming earlier on, and if you have left it a little late to book, you are still welcome to attend after 34 weeks. We feel that the ideal time frame of 24 to 34 weeks gives couples enough time to reflect on and practice what you will learn in the Calmbirth® class, using the tools and techniques to help you prepare for your birth.

North Shore Private Hospital provides morning and afternoon tea. Participants can bring their own lunch or buy it from the Hudson cafe on site or alternatively, RNSH has a cafeteria section (open to the public) on level 3.

The Calmbirth® class starts at 9.ooam and ends at 5.oopm. The course fee is $550 and this includes the Calmbirth® book and meditations.  After you have attended the Calmbirth® class, you may be able to claim with your health fund.

About the Educators

Louise Luscri
Louise Luscri has been teaching Calmbirth since 2007. Over the past ten years she has met so many women and their partners who have used the Calmbirth skills in pregnancy, labour and birth which they report contributed to making a significant and positive difference in their lives.

I have worked as a midwife since 1987 and am passionate about birth and women’s birth experiences. I have seen that women who have trust in their ability to birth makes an enormous difference to their birth experience.

Calmbirth is a wonderful start to having a family. The Calmbirth® program is the best preparation for birth that I have seen in the last decade. The Calmbirth® course skills provide a set of life skills that are birth specific but can be used in parenting and throughout everyday life. This course is for all women having their first baby as well as those who have experienced a previous birth and want to create something different. It is a fabulous course for women who feel anxious, worried or for women who know what they want. I facilitate regular weekend workshops in Neutral Bay and week night classes in the Frenchs Forest area and I am also available for private sessions.

Natlie Short
Natlie is a mother of three, a midwife and the founder of the Calm Nest.  Her love affair with Calmbirth began in 2007 when her daughter Lilly was born so calm that she was asleep.

The reason I am motivated to teach Calmbirth is because it is an education program that I have experienced and know provides positive outcomes in pregnancy, birth & beyond. Calmbirth not only supported my beautiful birth with Lilly in 2007, but again with my son Tiger in 2009. Ten years later and I am still deeply in love with Calmbirth. I would love the opportunity to provide you with tools that will support your pregnancy and birth to create a mindful experience. It really is a foundation for a positive beginning in life.
