More about Calmbirth®
Calmbirth is Australia’s most highly acclaimed, recommended, TRUSTED and scientifically proven face to face childbirth education program in Australia. The Calmbirth course is a comprehensive 12-hour in-person antenatal course that focuses on psychological and emotional preparation for childbirth. It aims to change perspectives on birth and empower women to collaborate with their bodies, partners, and healthcare providers to achieve the most positive birth experience possible. Couples who participate will gain skills to manage the stress responses, build confidence, and actively engage in the birthing process rather than reacting passively. The program incorporates techniques for releasing fears through guided relaxation, facilitating emotional healing surrounding childbirth anxieties, and fostering a more positive mindset towards the birthing experience.
Calmbirth is one of the first childbirth education programs to be evidence-based and is clinically and scientifically proven to significantly:
- Reduce the rate of medical intervention
- Reduce the use of pain relief and epidurals during childbirth
- Enrich a couples birth experience as positive, irrespective of how they birth
- Reduce the impact of perinatal anxiety and postnatal depression in women after childbirth
