Calmbirth Refresher Course

If you’ve done Calmbirth before and are now preparing for another baby, our one-day or two-evening refresher course helps you to pause - to take a moment and spend some time preparing for your next birth!

Because every pregnancy, baby, and birth is different

The Calmbirth refresher course allows you to reconnect—with your partner, your body, and your goals for this birth. Whether your last experience was positive or challenging, this course gives you the space to debrief, reflect, heal, reset, and prepare again.

“This is our second birth and the second time using Calmbirth. We were so impressed with how well it worked for us the first time that we were keen for a refresher. Even the second time around we found the refresher so valuable for re-affirming the Calmbirth information and techniques and we’re going into our next birth feeling empowered, prepared, and excited.” – A Calmbirth couple

You’ll revisit:

  • The Mind-Body Birth Connection and the stages of labour.
  • Calmbirth techniques to prepare and work with all births.
  • Your personal goals and options for this birth.

You’ll leave feeling re-inspired, re-centred, and ready to birth again.

Calmbirth has been researched extensively by independent researchers that have shown to:

  • Enrich couples’ birth experiences as positive, irrespective of how they birth.
  • Provide couples with more personal psychosocial coping strategies, and a positive reframing of their childbirth experiences, reducing the chances of birth trauma, anxiety, and depression disorders.
  • Improve self-efficacy, decision-making, and health literacy, lowering the rates of unnecessary medical interventions.

We always recommend that you bring your birth support person that will be with you on the day you give birth, for some it will be their partner, for others it will be their mother, or friend.
