Join me in creating a calm, positive, and empowering birth experience. Let’s work together to ensure you feel supported every step of the way.

My Name is...Melissa Woodhouse.

I work at….CSU.

The five words that describe my life would be...Wonderful filled with family and friends.

The best thing about where I live…is the sense of community. Bathurst is a beautiful town with so many opportunities for everyone and the community really rallies together.

When I’m not working and have some spare time I love…I love to read, spend time with my kids, crochet. I also volunteer as Events coordinator for Homebirth NSW and am a part of a local committee known as Better Births Central West. Sometimes I play soccer.

I can’t live without...Chocolate, oh and my family.

The trait I admire most in others is..Honesty, kindness and compassion.

What I love most about being a Calmbirth educator is...being able to ensure women and their partners/support people have all the information under their belt to make informed choices about their care. So that hopefully they come away from their birth experiences feeling happy.

If I had to describe my own birth experiences in 3 words…absolutely amazing!

Three essential things you need to take in to labour are...Toolbox, understanding, support.

A favourite quote…she believed she could so she did.

How does seeing a baby being born make me feel...I feel so lucky to be able to share the entire pregnancy labour and birth journey with women and families. I still get a tear every birth I’m blessed to attend. Even after 15 years I still see birth as such a remarkable experience.
