Last night I had the pleasure of attending the premiere of Birth Time – the question in the room, is what would it take for women to emerge from their birth feeling physically well and emotionally safe?

Feeling listened to, respected, loved and feeling you have rights and choices in birth, believing in yourself and your body to birth your baby and feeling empowered to do so by this knowledge was the message that the filmmakers Jo Hunter, Jerusha Sutton and Zoe Naylor explored with various birthing women and birth experts when they looked at the Australian Maternity care system.

A brilliant film about birth and birth experiences that can change the way women and their families birth forever! A film that should be celebrated for giving women a voice.
