Biography
Hi, I have been a midwife for 17 years. I have worked in Sydney, Orange and now Newcastle, in all areas of pregnancy birth and beyond. It is such a privilege to get to know women and their families and be present at such an exciting moment in their lives. I love my job!
I became intrigued by Calmbirth when I saw how empowered and fearless women were during their births and I loved doing the course for my own pregnancies.
I’m excited to help families experience their birth with strength, knowledge and belief in themselves. I know a positive headspace can drastically improve birth outcomes and I want that for everyone. I love that Calmbirth celebrates every birth, no matter how that unfolds.
I hope to see you in my classes, and can’t wait to be part of one of the best days of your lives.

Despite Niki's many challenges during the birth of her beautiful girl, Ellie, it was the support of her birth partner, her caregivers and her deep focus on the breath that got her through her C - Section birth. One of the questions we often get asked at Calmbirth when couples find out they may require a C - Section birth is if the Calmbirth program will still be useful for them. Here is what Niki had to say about that. "The most stand out moment for me, was the breathing I adopted during the c-section procedure whereby I was able to refocus myself and go to a meditative state - all while I was cut open. There are no words to describe being awake while undergoing major surgery- but it was pure breathing that allowed my mind and body connection to be strong and sustain me through this remarkable experience!

Bridget will be a teaching Calmbirth at the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle starting from July and she can't wait to share her knowledge and passion with pregnant couples from the Newcastle and surrounding areas.
