Biography
Hi, I’m Bec. I am a midwife, wife and mother to two tween girls.
I have been a midwife for 15 years. I started out early into my midwifery career practicing in Sydney as a group practice midwife (MGP) shortly after graduating. It was during these years I witnessed the incredible difference Calmbirth has on a woman’s birth experience and journey into motherhood. The Calmbirth course instills confidence in the woman and her body’s ability, allowing her to trust in the process of birth and surrender to the empowering incredible journey that birth and motherhood truly is.
I myself also had the pleasure of attending Peter Jackson’s course back in 2013 before the birth of my first daughter, and remain incredibly grateful for the knowledge and skills I learnt prior to giving birth. Despite already being a midwife, I went into my birth experience with extended knowledge, confidence to make informed decisions, and trust in my body’s ability to birth my baby confidently. As a result i have had two very relaxed, quick, calm, fearless and empowering water-births.
Seven years ago my family made the tree change to the Southern Highlands and we haven’t looked back. This change has opened up career opportunities including becoming a Calmbirth Educator and teaching alongside Karen (Director) in Mittagong during 2022-2024. 2024 had me spreading my knowledge even further as I began educating and teaching couples in Kingston, Canberra. 2025 & 2026 my face has been popping up over numerous locations teaching Calmbirth to couples across Sydney, including Nepean Hospital, North Shore Private and The SANS. It excites me to work alongside like minded practitioners supporting women through all the stages of pregnancy, labour, birth, and motherhood, and the impact this work truly has on couples birth and postpartum journey.
