Biography

Hi, I’m Queenie!
I’m a Registered Nurse, Midwife, Calmbirth Educator, and soon-to-be mum, based in Newcastle, NSW. With years of experience working across all areas of maternity care at John Hunter Hospital—including Birth Suite, Antenatal and Postnatal Wards, the Maternity Assessment Day Unit (MADU), and home visits—I’ve had the privilege of supporting countless families through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.
I am deeply passionate about antenatal education and believe that birth is a transformative experience—one that should be approached with calm, confidence, and connection.
My goal is to empower you with knowledge, practical tools, and mindset shifts that will help you feel prepared and positive about your birth, no matter the path it takes.
As a Calmbirth educator, I provide evidence-based education, teaching relaxation, breathing, visualisation, and mindfulness techniques to help you and your birth partner replace fear with trust—in your body, your baby, and the birth process. I love teaching Calmbirth because it aligns with my core belief: that birth is a natural, physiological process, and that you already hold the wisdom and ability to birth your baby.
My Calmbirth classes are hands-on, interactive, and face-to-face, creating a warm and supportive space where you can truly connect with the process.
So, what will you learn from my Calmbirth classes?
  • The mind-body connection in birth – how your thoughts and emotions influence your birth experience.
  • Practical relaxation techniques – to help you stay calm and in control during labour.
  • Breathing, visualisation, and mindfulness techniques – designed to support you through each stage of labour.
  • How your birth partner can best support you – so you feel safe, empowered, and nurtured.
  • Understanding the physiology of birth – what happens in your body and how to work with it.
  • How to navigate unexpected turns – with confidence and clarity, no matter how your birth unfolds.
  • Tools to reduce fear and anxiety – so you can approach birth with trust and positivity.
I’d love to support you in preparing for birth with calm, confidence, and connection!
Please feel free to reach out, and we can have a conversation to address any inquiries you may have. I’m more than happy to assist you in any way I can.
