News
At a time when Australia’s maternity system is marked by rising intervention rates and increasing reports of birth trauma, the role of the midwife has never been more critical or more in need of expansion. Calmbirth education offers a meaningful, evidence-based and informed pathway for midwives to extend their scope of practice beyond clinical tasks into the emotional, psychological and relational dimensions of birth.
Ineke's labour was a beautiful whirlwind
Birth Stories
Ineke and Jake attended Calmbirth with me at around week 30 of Ineke's pregnancy. They were both so keen to learn all about birth and how to utilise the Calmbirth tools and skills for a positive birth. Ineke's Birth story filled me with such joy and I hope you enjoy reading their amazing journey into parenthood.

We had the consultant obstetrician, the paediatrician there and the midwife was fantastic. Thanks for all your wonderful wisdom.

Just wanted to share the great news. Josh and I welcomed Lacey Marie into the world at 8:40 on June 10th. She arrived early at 36.6 weeks after my waters broke at home. She was still breech which meant a cesarean. But we are both really good. Lacey passed her birth weight on day 5 and feeds so well.

Wonderful! I was apprehensive prior to attending the course that it may have been unrealistic and would take a extreme approach to only birthing naturally but was pleasantly surprised at how realistic the education was and how well it could be implemented into my birth experience. That your body knows how to birth.

Carmel is lovely, confident and knowledgeable. She made the experience very enjoyable, she was welcoming, relaxing and very hospitable.I know if I had not done the course I would have been at the hospital as soon as they started and know medical intervention would have happened as I would have been scared.
